P1 has been shortlisted for Platform of the Year for the first time
The winner will be announced at the awards dinner on 22 September.
The shortlist includes some of the biggest names in advice: AJ Bell, Aviva Investors, Fidelity International, Parmenion, Quilter, Scottish Widows and Transact.
What goes into an award submission
Our entry ran to more than 2,000 words and involved supplying data, giving the judges access to the platform, and answering detailed questions about how it runs, including:
· Why we believe we deserve to win, with real examples from the last eighteen months.
· How we measure service, and how we performed against those measures.
· What sets us apart on service.
· How often things go wrong, including payment errors and any Ombudsman referrals.
· How we handle asset transfers.
· How we approach Consumer Duty.
Once the entries have been scored, the judges cut the list to a final eight. The last stage is an interview with the panel shortly before the ceremony.
Where we think the progress has come from
In Platforum's May 2026 User Leaderboard, based on more than 2,000 adviser reviews, P1 ranks first overall. We have been rated Best Overall Platform every year since 2022 and score highest of any platform on value for fees.
A lot of that comes back to value. Our platform charge is a single flat rate of 0.15% capped at £1,500, with no tiers that penalise smaller clients, and we pass on all the interest earned on client cash rather than keeping any of it. In November 2025 we cut charges again, halving the pension drawdown fee and lowering the minimum account fee so advisers can bring smaller pots under advice more easily.
Just as important is keeping things running so advisers have no reason to chase us. The platform ran at 100% uptime across the final quarter of 2025, holds a Net Promoter Score of 61, and has never had a case referred to the Financial Ombudsman. It is built API-first and heavily automated, so a lot of the everyday jobs that create service tickets elsewhere get dealt with before they become a problem.
It has been a busy twelve months. We launched a new platform interface, added Lombard lending, brought in multi-factor authentication and adjustable notifications, and reduced fees rather than raising them. The aim throughout was to take as much admin off advisers as possible, so they can spend more time advising.
James Priday, CEO of P1 Platform, said: "It has been a busy twelve months on the platform, and it is great to see that effort recognised. Our focus has always been on making advisers' lives easier, and being named a finalist for Platform of the Year means a great deal."
The shortlisting follows Best Technology Partner in 2021 and Leading Innovation in 2024.
Good luck to everyone else on the list, and we’ll share how we get on in September.
