At our recent 10 year anniversary we introduced P1’s latest member of the team and our new mascot, say hello to Pilot. Full name is Pilot Archimedes Wright.

The name has a bit of thought behind it;  

Pilot, because he’s a guide, he’s designed to get you places.

Archimedes, after one of the most famous innovators, something core how P1 does business 

Wright, a nod to the first ever pilots who gave humans flight (quite the innovation itself).  

Pilot wears his goggles for the same reason, and they come in handy both when he is building something and when he is out exploring, being the first to try new things. 

P1: Works Like a Dog... 

Pilot is a Beagle, and this choice wasn’t just down to the fact P1’s CEO, James Priday is a huge beagle having got two of his own (Obi & Bella) and a tattoo of past beagle, Pilot is imbued with the same characteristics and mindset embed in P1.

• An Adviser’s best friend: Dogs, and Beagles, are known for being mans best friends, they’re social andd very loyal to their owners, and Pilot is here to make your day a bit easier, looking to help and be there when you need him.

• Instant Dislike for Paper: from homework to postman, dogs have never been a fan of paper related activities, and neither are we. P1 work tirelessly to remove unnecessary paper, letting you focus on advice and not paperwork. 

• Innovation comes naturally: Pilot's goggles don’t just represent his love of flying, but also fearless invention. Donning his goggles he’ll get to work solving problems, building new things and see what new ways he can improve an adviser's life. 

• Can’t resist the chase & following a trail: Beagles have an excellent nose and will keep going until they find what they are after, if you’ve ever had to follow up a client transfer, you’ll know these qualities (minus the nose) are crucial. But with Pilot, rest assured you’ve got a dedicated chaser on your side, following things up and getting the answer. 

• Going first: He is curious and loves innovation, which is why he wears the goggles and tends to be the first one going somewhere new. 

• Taking on the admin: He picks up the tasks that eat into your time, so you can spend it on clients rather than paperwork. 

Pilot: He’s not just for a 10yr Anniversary, he’s for... 

Pilot isn't just with us to celebrate our anniversary, he is with us for life. You'll start seeing Pilot as we drop him into our services and marketing.

One of the main places will be on the platform and in our technology, don't worry he won’t be picking portfolios or making any dog lists, but Pilot will act as your help agent answering your queries, guiding you on tasks, letting you focus on advice. And if he cannot answer something, he will quickly go and find the nearest human to help. 

You will also start to spot him around the P1 brand, from small touches on the website to our marketing and event materials. Some of you will have already met him at P10, where many of you took home a Pilot. 

And while P1 and Pilot are challengers, every dog has its day...
